About Me

Alexis Elizabeth Lynch

Howdy!

I am an Ohio born and based writer. I enjoy traveling and adventure, eating delicious food, Dungeons & Dragons, beekeeping, lucid dreaming, camping/backpacking, the pursuit of knowledge, painting, cross stitch, and hoarding books like a dragon. (Last best guess the count is around 4,500.) I’m usually up all night and my breakfast consists of a coffee and a cigarette. I am an agnostic, so my spiritual journey is more questions than answers. I am a Ravenclaw who married her Hufflepuff husband soulmate on Halloween of 2020. We have two dogs; Rabies (Papillon), and Daisy (15-inch Beagle), two cats, and a fat rat.

i am not a victim of my life
what i went through
pulled a warrior out of me
and it is my greatest honor to be her.”

-Rupi Kaur

I’ve began writing creatively as an extra circular since around 10 years old (1999/2000). It may have been earlier, but that’s the oldest dated hand written draft I have found thus far. As the years have passed, I have taken various literature courses; read books teaching different writing forms, as well as studied the works of numerous classic and modern authors whose styles have set the bar. All of this; to have a better understanding of style and use of language, experience in various genres, as well as to develop my own “voice” as a writer. I have written under multiple pen-names, aliases, and my life goal is to have my life’s work published into books. I hand write 90% of my first drafts, and about 20% of that is done with ink and quill.

I have been a guest blogger at ohiothoughtsblog.blogspot.com and have had poetry published in anthologies as well as the Columbus Dispatch. I have been the screenplay writer for Nikkso Productions since 2011, and am best known for the story and screenplay of the horror film “Tabbott’s Traveling Carnivale of Terrors”.

My genres/formats of choice to write, and what I have experience in:

Fiction: Horror, fantasy, children’s short story, fan-fiction, and screenplays.

Non-Fiction: Wildlife & natural history essays, travel journal, lucid dream journal, and abnormal/criminal psychology profiles of killers.

Some of my favorite selections of writing which have inspired and influenced me throughout my life, are as follows. (I highly recommend you read all of them.)

Frankenstein” by Mary Shelly

The complete works of Edgar Allen Poe

“4.48 Psychosis” by Sarah Kane

True Grit” by Charles Portis

Harry Potter” series by J.K Rowling

A  Knight Without Armor” by Jewel Kilcher

A Song of Ice and Fire” series by George R.R. Martin

The writings of Trent Reznor, Billy Collins, Sylvia Plath, and Rupi Kaur.
